ANANTNAG , 13 JANUARY:- In the journey towards getting recognised at national level as a institution of excellence, GMC Anantnag achieves another mile stone by getting one of it faculty members inducted as instructor for Basic and Advanced NRP by Indian Academy of Pediatrics ( IAP). Indian Academy of pediatrics is the largest academic body for Pediatrics Medicine in India. It is pertinent to mention that Dr. Showkat is the first national board certified Neonatologist from Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr Showkat Hussain Tali who is an Associate Professor and Head of the Pediatrics Department at GMC Anantnag was given the certificate of recognition by IAP/NNF central body after competing Training of trainers (TOT) at Hyderabad on 7th & 8th of January 2025 on sidelines of IAP PEDICON 2025.
The certificate was given to Dr Showkat in a glittering function by Prof. S M Nimbalkar; Editor in Chief of Journal of Neonatology and president Elect NNF India 2026, Prof. Dr. Surinder Singh Bisht; General secretary NNF India ; Dr. Danish Tomar; Vice President NNF and ex secretary general NNF India , Dr. Lalan Bharti; President elect NNF and ex Vice President and Secretary NNF India and EB central IAP, in the presence of stalwarts of NNF and IAP. The inaugural function of the TOT and certification was attended by all the top office bearers of IAP including IAP past president Prof. Dr.G.V. Basavaraja, President Prof. Dr. Vasant M K and the president elected Prof. Dr. Neelam Mohan.
Principal and Dean GMC Anantnag Prof. Dr. Rukhsana Najeeb congratulated Dr Showkat Hussain Tali for getting recognized by IAP as Basic and Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Programme (NRP) instructor. She hoped that Dr Showkat will tranfer his expertise and skills to his colleagues and subordinates in the best interests of patient care and academics in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
