ANANTNAG, 28 Dec :- Despite the whole valley observing first heavy snow fall of the year, doctors working at GMC Anantnag continued to provide uninterrupted routine and emergency care to the patients at the facility. Apart from hundreds of OPD visits and admissions that took place at associated hospitals of GMC Anantnag ( MMABM hospital and MCCH Sherbag) 14 LSCS surgeries , 5 general and orthopaedic surgeries were performed by dedicated doctors and supporting staff of GMC Anantnag till late evening and counting. In addition to this 21 CT scans , dozens of Ultra-sonography examinatios, over 100 X-rays, over 50 ECGs and hundreds of baseline and other diagnostic investigation and procedures were performed over the same time period.
The main highlight of the day was that cardiology wing of the Department of General Medicine of GMC Anantnag performed two pacemaker implantations successfully. They were performed by collective efforts of 3 ace cardiologists posted at GMC Anantnag ( Dr Shameem Iqbal, Dr Showkat Hussain Shah, Dr Syed Maqbool).
Prof. Rukhsana Najeeb thanked all the staff members working at GMC Anantnag for their selfless services for the mankind, inspite of all the existing challanges. She said that these services benefit all the people of the region equally and especially those who can not afford the investigations and treatment at private facilities. Doctors and the supporting staff posted at Cardiology wing praised vision and foresight of Principal and Dean of GMC Anantnag Prof. Dr. Rukhsana and thanked her for the unwavering support and patronage throughout.
