The chief minister Mehbooba Mufti has resolved to crack whip against the bad governance and the corrupt practices that have been so far ruling the roost in Jammu and Kashmir during the previous regimes. According to the close confidants of Mehbooba, among the foremost things on which the new government would prioritize its efforts include framing a tough comprehensive policy against those who have been marring the efforts of transparency in the government services. “It is the clean governance that will remain Mehbooba’s focal point while assuming the office of the chief minister. She will introduce innovative ways to put a lid over the bad governance that has been so far a trademark of the political governments of the state,” says a senior PDP leader.
It was informed further that days after assuming the office, Mehbooba constituted a team of experts which will act as a third eye in the governance and shall be accorded with the crucial responsibility of checking whether the public woes are being addressed by the helmsmen in the state.

Besides setting up the effective grievance cells in all departments of the state, the new government led by Mehbooba Mufti will focus on giving full authority to the team of experts who will be accountable to the chief minister only,” top sources divulged.
According to the PDP insiders, Mehbooba had been keenly watching the latest developments taking place during the governor’s rule in the state on administrative level and has also contemplated how the bureaucrats normally do not function during the political governments in the state. “These are the same bureaucrats who were working during the tenure of late Mufti Sahib. If they could work tirelessly now, what was wrong with them then?,” sources quoting Mehbooba as saying during the meetings held at the party level between various leaders of the PDP.
They said that the PDP chief, who for the first time in her life assumed the top post of the state, has resolved to make the bureaucracy work in her favour and to remain on tenterhooks to resolve the crises on ground. Interestingly, Mehbooba, minutes after being elected as LP leader in the PDP, told press that the new government will see many changes on ground and one major among them will be the induction of the honest ministers in her cabinet. According to sources, Mehbooba is all set to rein in the corrupt babus.
“It will be the effective and governance with transparency that will be the face of the new coalition in the state. Many novel ideas will be implemented on ground in a bid to ensure that people could heav a sigh of relief from what they have been witnessing since past several decades,” said a senior leader.
