Syed Imtiyaz Haider’s political career as a separatist started in 1998,when he joined the Tehreek Hurriyat in 2004 and rapidly rose through to become prominent pro-freedom activist.His separatist politics is very clear “Kashmir is an occupation, and there will be no debate or discussion on that. Syed Imtiyaz Haider is a straight-talking man .His strategy, as a result, relies on high drama and shock value There is hardly any doubt that Syed Imtiyaz Haider will emerge as a strong force in the separatist camp in view of the current political situation on the ground in Kashmir.
Syed Imtiyaz Haider became famous and respected all over the Kashmir and seen as symbol of resistance and activism against the indian rule.In public eyes he is seen as a close AIDE of Syed Ali Geelani and mohd Ashraf Sehrai sahib as one can often find him around the duo.Imtiyaz Haider is deeply inspired by resilience of Geelani Sahib and Sehrai sahib in particular. A husband and a father of 3 childrens I mtiyaz H aider s acrificed the joys of family and personnel life over pro-freedom resistance and pursuing pro-freedom political activism with conviction and commitment.Syed Imtiyaz Haider often seen behind the bars and relentlessly without any second thought and preferred prisons over his personnel life.
Syed Imtiyaz Haider was born in 1975 Gojrah village from distt Budgam .His father Late Sayed Haider was a preacher and his mother Syeda Zaytoon Bibi a house wife.After receiving his primary education at a local school and went to budgam high school where he passed matriculation examination and then joined police deptt as a constable. After few years serving in police he was dismissed from the services on his political affiliation with profreedom camp.Imtiyaz Haidar was a constable bearing belt No.78/BD. When he was arrested and discharged from his service on charges of being in “Subversive activities” sixteen years back.
The superintendent of police had issued an order No.370 of 1999 in this regard on 12 May 1999 and dismissed the services of Sayeed Imtiyaz from June 27,1997. Syed Imtiyaz Haider fought his dismissal legally and By virtue of the verdicts from single and double bench of the state highest judicial institution, Imtiyaz Hider won the the case but despite judicial verdict goes in his favour he again prefer conviction and commitment over job and huge sum of money approximately 30 lacs which judiciary granted to him. During the 2008 and 2010 agitations are concern he played a significant role in orginasing massive public rallies which broke out against the Machil encounter carried out by the Indian army in Kashmir. It was only in 2008 that Imtiyaz Hider emerged as a significant political force. His role in the anti-government agitation, triggered by the transfer of land to the Amarnath shrine board, pitchforked him into the public eye. Realising his new found political clout, the authorities detained him and that time for 12 months. To stop such incidences Imtiyaz Hider has been detained by the Government numerous times later.
Government has booked Imtiyaz Haider in many cases but in most of these he has either been exonerated or bailed out by the courts . He has been Jailed for over 8 years and has around dozens of cases against him. Syed Imtiyaz Haider is a great luminary of shia sunni unity and always played a bridging role as far as the sectarian hormony is concern.He received a tremendous respect from every school of thought for such contributions.
