Khudwani qaimoh, an area known as the birth-place of of a sufi saint and ‘buzurg’ Sheikh Noor-u-din Noorani (RA). From this sufi’s times, this area is spreading peace throughout the valley both by his writings and by his followers and descendants. This area also served as a bussiness hub in the times when ghat(a harbour) was called by its original name and now changed into redwani payeen. This village was then a part or a mohalla of khudwani. Great businessmen and merchants of those times migrated to this place even some of them were from the capital city, Srinagar.
This area if looked keenly now has lost that glory which it had gained earlier. It might be that government found other means of transporting and other means of business leaving the old one’s at God’s might. One may call it a jewel in the crown. This village is also the centre market for its surrounding villages like Redwani payeen,wanpora, tachloo, redwani Balla,Rahpora hawoora, Rampora etc. Unfortunately this village has got caught up in certain misconceptions and prejudices by the government, politicians and some responsible citizens of some other areas.

No doubt, Khudwani Qaimoh has played a crucial role in the conflict era and also in the mass agitations of 2008 and 2010. This was not only in khudwani, like ‘Julius Ceasers’ mob whole valley did it. And as a part of resistance it was important for them too. But unfortunately here in south, only the youth of this area were called un-sophisticated because they also did the same thing which everyone else was doing in the valley. No doubt, they lack a proper education and proper guidance becuase they did something ‘unusual’. This lack of education was the responsibility of their parents and the elders of the community which unfortunately they themselves where lacking. Now, this was the responsibility of government authorities especially the police who were always busy in other things. My question to government and authorities is that, have they ever tried to make good relations with the people of Khudwani and its adjoining areas? Have they ever tried to make reconciliations with the people of these areas? No, never. But in turn they have always used a whip to handle the situation and tormented most of the youth in the custodies which has always added more fuel to the fire.
The police which should have been a help for people have become their biggest enemies, enemies like a snake and a mongoose. Now the only way left in order to overcome this all, the government, especially the police has do come forward one step, becuase one has to come. Keeping good relations and providing a good guidance will only tackle all he problems. As i earlier said earlier that misconceptions and prejudices will get erased from the minds of those who either believe on them or make them. These things have troubled this area in many ways and the most important concern is of development and infrastructure which is lacking here in this area very much. No government official or politician is ready to visit or survey this area which they think is highly dangerous and conflict-gripped still.
Through this write, i am calling out loudly for that lonely hope to come forward and see the situation and make people feel happy. I request the authorities and responsible people to come forward. Once you come you will notice that the people living in this area area are no other people, they do have same feelings and do same things which other ordinary people do, but they need a hand on the head. I hope that will definitely bring good results and will bear good fruit.
