Srinagar, 26 October:- In a recent police operation, Srinagar authorities arrested eight individuals, including the District Development Council (DDC) Vice Chairman, in connection with illegal gambling activities. Acting on specific information, police raided two prominent locations at Sangarmal Complex and CTC Exchange Road, where gambling activities were reportedly taking place. During these raids, officers confiscated Rs 81,000 in cash along with gambling materials like playing cards. The arrested individuals were subsequently transferred to the Central Jail.
Police registered two FIRs (FIR No. 24/2023 and FIR No. 25/2023) at Kothibagh Police Station. This arrest reflects the police’s ongoing efforts to address social crimes and maintain law and order in the region.(KDC)
